2016. Love it or hate it, the most important thing about it is that you survived it.
As I reflect back on this year it absolutely had its highs and it definitely had its lows. There were moments my cheeks hurt from laughing so hard and there were moments my eyes felt like they ran out of tears, but most of all, I was grateful for them all.
The biggest lesson I learned this year was to lean into uncomfortable feelings and to even express gratitude in those difficult moments. I learned that it’s best to embrace the discomfort versus ignoring it and that people will always surprise you in the best of ways.
I continued to challenge my own misconceptions physically as I completed my 1st triathlon and 4th half marathon. Two things I feel very proud of, and as I look to 2017, my only real intentions are to continue to lean in when facing difficult times, to continue practicing gratitude, and to choose happiness above all else because I have faith that the rest of my goals will follow.
With that being said, I wish each and every one of you and your families the very best as we say goodbye to 2016 and hello to 2017.
Happy New Year!
