So I’ve been nothing but rainbows and sunshine so far with my blog posts but today, I am a bonafide grumpypants. I’m tired, and despite the fact that I have eaten breakfast, lunch, and multiple snacks, I am STILL hungry. Thanks a lot stomach. I appreciate your seemingly bottomless-like pit attitude. You sure know how to treat a girl well.
It just seems like the universe is experiencing a one off today in this neighbourhood. There were two multiple vehicle accidents on one of the highways in my city, and during my run this morning, my poor husband (who often joins me on his bike) wiped out on the trail due to the very wet and rainy conditions. Poor guy banged his shoulder up pretty good, so needless to say, I stopped my run early (2.8km early to be exact) to make sure he was alright, and also to help him walk his bike. Worst part is, I know he feels super guilty about it, but don’t worry hun, I’ll make it up this week. I’m just glad he’s still intact.
Nevertheless, I’m trying to see the positives from what seems like such a crummy day.
#1 – I’m down to 8:19 per km putting me at about 1.2 km in 10 minutes. Call it what you will, but that is FAST for me!
#2 – I got a fantastic new pair of kicks which made all the difference during my albeit short 2km run. The running world often frowns upon Nike, but whatever, I have zero “effs” to give because I EFFING love them. You can find a pic of them on my gallery page.
Anyway, now I am sitting at home and relaxing while watching football (yes, we’re big NFL fans in this casa) and I am slowly starting to feel less grumpy. I guess the moral of the story is that sometimes you need the universe to present you with an “off” day as a reminder that things are not always what they seem, and that it’s important to remind yourself of all of the great things that surround you. Thanks for listening.
